A Survey Of Examination Malpractices Using The Randomized Response Technique.
Publication Authors:
 Adebola, F.B And Adegoke N.A.
Year Published:
 2013
Abstract:
We administered a questionnaire survey using both the randomized response (RR) technique and the direct questioning (DQ) technique to directly estimate the prevalence of examination malpractices in The Federal University of Technology, Akure in Ondo State, Nigeria. The effectiveness of the RR technique in reducing response and non-response biases was also assessed and we examined the relationship between examination malpractices and key demographic variables. It was discovered that RR technique was effective in reducing non-response bias, but its effectiveness in reducing response bias could not be established statistically. Some relationships were found between the demographic variables examined and examination malpractices.

An Optimal Setting For Production Process Using Inverted Loss Function.
Publication Authors:
 Obafemi, O.S., Ajao I.O., Adebola, F.B.
Year Published:
 2013
Abstract:
In manufacturing, loss Function expresses the economic consequences associated with deviation from target; since different process have different sets of economic consequences a better approach to developing loss function and setting optimal values is desirable. This work focused on the use of loss function based on inverted normal probability density Function known as the inverted Normal loss function in determining an optimal setting for a production process. Basic programming language is used to determine the expected loss of weights with varying loss values, on weights of cigarette. The optimal value for the manufacturing of cigarette process was obtained to be 1030mg.

On A New Method Of Bias Reduction: Alternative To Approximately Unbiased Ratio Estimators
Publication Authors:
 Adebola ,F.B. And Oshungade ,I.O
Year Published:
 2012
Abstract:
This paper proposes a new method of bias reduction from order n?1 to order n?2 resulting in a new approximately unbiased ratio estimator. The efficiency of this estimator for the ratio of population means of two characters is compared with the existing six other Ratio estimators under a linear regression model.

On A Numerical Comparison Of The Proposed Randomized Response Technique With Hussain And Shabbir (2007)
Publication Authors:

Year Published:
 2012
Abstract:
Randomized Response Techniques (RRTs) were developed for the purpose of improving response rate by protecting surveyee’s privacy and avoiding answer bias.In this paper, we succinctly investigated the trend of the response rate (?) with both the proposed Randomized Response Technique (RRT) and the conventional one. We found that the proposed (RRT) is better than the conventional one at each response rate since it gives smaller variance.

: Comparison Of Some Approximately Unbiased Ratio Estimators Using A Monte Carlo Approach Under Non Normal Error Regression Model
Publication Authors:
 F.B Adebola
Year Published:
 2012
Abstract:
This paper compares seven approximately unbiased ratio estimators along side with the classical ratio estimator under a non-normal linear regression model. The variances, bias, mean squared errors and efficiencies of these estimators for the ratio of population means of two characters were compared using Monte Carlo. Our findings revealed that RA is the best

Abstract:
In this paper, a new randomized response technique has been proposed that combines the unrelated question randomized response technique and tripartite randomized response technique. The relative efficiency of the newly proposed Randomized Response technique over the existing Randomized Response technique was obtained. It was observed that the relative efficiency of the proposed technique over the tripartite RRT increases with increase in ?A and ?U. The applicability of the proposed technique was also shown. However, it has been shown that the proposed technique performs better than the conventional ones

Abstract:
In any research involving sensitive questions, respondents tend to refuse to answer such questions or give evasive response. Many randomized response sampling techniques were developed but could only handle two answer options; ‘Yes’ and ‘No’, among which are [8], e.t.c. In this paper, a tripartite randomized response sampling technique was developed to handle the three answer options: ‘Yes’, ‘No’ and ‘Undecided’,based on the modification of [8] model.

Derivations And Comparison Of Some Mean Square Errors Of Some Almost Unbiased Ratio Estimators ( Under A Particular Model).
Publication Authors:
 Adebola,F.B. And Bassey K.J
Year Published:
 2011
Abstract:
Over the years, several ratio type estimators which satisfies the criterion of approximately or almost unbiased ratio estimators have been proposed by several authors. In this paper, the mean square errors of outstanding seven almost unbiased ratio estimators are derived under a particular regression model, and compared to obtain the most efficient among them.

Abstract:
This paper proposes a new stratified technique to address the problem involving estimation of the population proportion of people with sensitive attribute(s). Studying the proposed technique under proportional and Neyman allocations shows that the proposed technique is more efficient than (outperforms) the Singh & Gorey [1] and Tarray & Singh [2] stratified randomized response models. Applying the proposed technique to a survey on drug use disorder also shows the applicability of the model
